ASSOCIATION OF ROYAL MECHANICAL STUDENTS (ARMS)
ARMS- Association of Royal Mechanical Students was introduced to provide a platform for the students to exhibit & sharpen their academic & practical knowledge. Technical Fests, Seminars, Working Model Exhibitions, Best Professional Contests etc. conducted by ARMS do fulfill the above said purpose thereby achieving an integrated development of the students. ARMS nurture the Mechanical Engineering students equipping themselves with creativity and leadership qualities face the highly technical challenged world.
MECHNIUS is the annual technical fest conducted by ARMS in the month of October since the year 2005. This is an intercollegiate mechanical engineering techfest participated by more than 500 engineering students of the state. AUTOEXPO is the main attraction of MECHNIUS which exhibits the collection of modified and vintage cars & bikes.
MECHNIUS 2016, the technical fest conducted by the Mechanical Engineering Department of SAINTGITS College of Engineering made its leap on August 5th. The fest was inaugurated by Smt. Reena Rajan, Account delivery owner, TCS. Thirteen events were organized and conducted within these two days.
In addition to the above events, a diverse exhibition which had products from 5 different companies and various other award winning projects made by students of mechanical department was also conducted. The companies which participated in the exhibition include industry giants like Eicher, Ashok Leyland, KMML ,KAMCO and Bajaj. We had visits by school students and faculty from three schools who had very good appreciation of the exhibition and the exhibits
The department, in association with ARMS (Association of Royal Mechanical students of SAINTGITS) organized the Ninth National level inter collegiate technical festival – "MECHNIUS 2015? on 31st July and 1st August 2015. Inaugurated by Commander (retd.) Vinod Shankar.
The competitions included events like Paper Presentation, Brain Storm (Quiz), Battle of Bots (mini robots stability competition), Junkyard Wars (assembly of catapult to destroy a target), Ultimate Royal (technical and managing capability testing), Mecha Trail (time bound events), The Machinist (fastest assembly of parts), Lathe Master (lathe production process), Autoshow (modified, vintage and new generation automobile competition) and Hot Wheels (racing of RC cars). The student co-ordinator was Mr. Akhil Sivadas and Faculty Coordinator was Mr. Tom Mathew.
Mechnius 2014, the National Level Technical Fest of Mechanical Engineering Department of Saintgits College Of Engineering, Pathamuttom, Kottayam in association with the Association of Royal Mexs of Saintgits (A.R.M.S) was held on 7th August 2014. The fest was organised to create a platform for undergraduate engineering students of various engineering colleges to showcase their technical and managerial abilities. The participants battled it out for a prize money worth Rs 75000/- which is one of the highest prize money awarded for any technical fest in Kerala. A.R.M.S was inaugurated by Mr.V.V.Sivakumar, plant and maintenance engineer of the National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC), Kayamkulam. Mechnius consisted of a variety of events which aimed at testing the technical skills, logical reasoning, practical knowledge and managerial skills.
The Mechanical Engineering Department of Saintgits College of Engineering in association with ARMS (ME Students Association) conducted the Eighth National level inter collegiate technical festival - 'MECHNIUS 2013' on 30th September 2013.
'MECHNIUS 2013' was inaugurated by Commodore Vijai Raj Kandru, Director of Centre for Naval Aviation Management Systems, Cochin. Commodore Vijay Kandru hails from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
