Overview Of The Event

Ice Breaking  Session  conducted  for  S4 ECE students  at  MOC Puthuppally on 30/01/17 and 31/01/17

Aim:

  • Uplift  the  students to  a  professional  platform.
  • Orient  the  students towards  a  vision &  mission for life.
  • Develop a  clarity  about  life  &  career.
  • Help the Mentee  to  understand  self (strengths & Weaknesses) & Help to develop methods to promote strengths  &  overcome weaknesses.
  • To  gain  trust  &  respect  of  students.

On  30-01-2017 (Mon),  immediately  after  the  university  exams,  all  students  assembled  in  SB 205  at  4.45 pm. Staff  advisors  &  a few  faculty  were  present.  An overview  of  the  program  was  given in  that  meeting. After  tea  &  snacks students  were  asked  to  form  groups  and each group was assigned  to present a skit at MOC  Puthupally.  At 6:10 pm,  students along with the staff advisors left the college to MOC by college bus.

The College bus reached MOC by 6:40 pm . After refreshment , the session started at 7:30 pm in the auditorium of MOC. 15  faculty  members  including  senior  professors  &  HOD  were  present for the  evening  session. The Session began with an introduction  by  Dr. Shajimon K John . With the help of an activity, Er. Jyothish Chandran G. explained the importance of time management. Dinner was arranged at 8:15 pm.   

After dinner, the session commenced at 9:00pm . Each group presented their skit. Team work and organizing  skills  of students of each group was analyzed by the faculty  of  ECE  Department. Then students were given an opportunity to speak in front of the class by introducing the good and bad traits of their best friend. Teachers  rated  the language skills of each student and also identified the students who lacked the confidence to face an audience.


Students were evaluated by Prof. Susan Abe, Dr. Shajimon K John, Er. Jyothish Chandran G.,   Er. Anu Raj, Dr. Binu K Mathew, Er. Riboy Cheriyan, Er. Beena A O, Er. Aravindan  A,  Er. Ashwin P V, Er. Abraham K Thomas, Er. Nishanth P R, Er. Marie K James, Er. Ashly John, Er. Preena Prasad and Er. Ajith Ravindran. Thus Day 1 came to an end by 10:30 pm. 

The session on Day 2 started at 6:00am. Students were divided into different groups. Different games and group activities were given to the students and the session was engaged by Dr. Shajimon K John, Er. Jyothish Chandran G., Er. Anu Raj and Er. Hanna Mathew. Breakfast was arranged at 8:00am. 

After breakfast, an external  trainer  Mr. Ajay Jose handled the entire session . His class was about personality development. He taught them about the importance of identifying  themselves  for a better career. He made the students write their good and bad traits on a piece of paper. The trainer also taught  them how to overcome their limitations.  
At 12:30 pm, lunch was served.  After lunch, Mr. Ajay Jose  stressed on the need  for developing a career plan to attain the career of their choice. That was an inspirational session for all the students. The session came to an end by 3:20pm. After tea, at 3:45pm College bus left MOC  with students and staff advisors.
