 SIM grants M.B.A degree of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University,Thiruvananthapuram. Admission To SIM Is Based On A Two Stage Scientific Process.

Selection Stage 1

A high KMAT/CMAT/CAT Score and relevant industry experience would be the basis for entry to SIM. To be eligible, you should have a pass in any bachelor degree examination of the M.G university or an equivalent degree of any other University duly recognised by Kerala Technological University,  with not less than 50% marks in aggregate in all parts of examination.

Selection Stage 2 .

After the stage 1 selection, you will be invited for an interaction at SIM. You will be given an opportunity to showcase your prowess in Group Discussion, and Extempore Speech followed by a battery of Personality and Suitability tests to assure that you have the competencies to undergo this challenging course and flourish in a corporate environment. It will culminate in a Personal Interview. We give due weight for work experience, gender balance, socio-cultural balance, and ensure a liberal spread of basic disciplines because we understand that management is about integration and plurality is the stepping stone to that.

Method Of Applying.

Application form and brochure can be downloaded from the website or can be collected from the Saintgits Institute of Management Admin Office, III Floor, Unity Building, K.K Road, Kottayam-686002, Kerala . Applications complete in all respect along with the documents mentioned in the application should be sent to the same address in return.

Important Documents To Be Attached

  • 1. Copy of CMAT/KMAT/CAT score card.
  • 2. Copy of Class X mark sheet.
  • 3. Copy of Class XII mark sheet.
  • 4. Copy of graduation mark sheets. If the degree is not completed, all available mark sheets should be enclosed
  • 5. Photograph duly pasted in the application form.
  • 6. Medical Certificate. In case you are suffering from any chronic illness or having continuous medication, you should enclose a certificate from a registered medical officer that you can undergo the rigour of the course despite your medical condition.
  • 7. Statement of Purpose. This is a very important document. It is a written statement of 300 to 400 words describing why you intend to do M.B.A and why you selected Saintgits Institute of Management. This must be hand written by the candidate and original.

Group Discussion And Personal Interview (GDPI)

If otherwise eligible, we call all applicants for Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GDPI) at our institute campus in Pathamuttom. In addition to these, you are expected to make an extempore speech on any subject of your choice. There will be some diagnostic tests which enable us to guide you on your strengths and weaknesses. You are expected to come well prepared for these events and should be formally dressed preferably in shirt and tie (for gentlemen) and sari/business suit (for ladies). 
We conduct GDPI at Thiruvanandapuram, Kozhikode, Thrissur, Ranchi and Patna also.

Reaching The Institute.

The institute is located at Pathamuttom. You can reach the venue by bus from Kottayam (Nagambadam bus station) or Changanacherry by private buses. You can also travel to Kurichi which lies between Kottayam and Changancherry on the MC Road and thereafter reach the institute by bus, autorikshaw or taxi. Result Of Selection And Paying Commitment Fee.

The result of selection will be intimated within 48 hours of the GDPI. Selected candidates should pay a non refundable commitment fee of Rs. 25,000.00 within seven days of intimation of result failing which the seat will be transferred to wait listed candidates. The commitment fee is part of the overall fee and the amount will be reduced from the first semester fee.


The course usually commences in June first or second week. The exact date will be intimated once you are selected. You will be put through an exciting and unique induction programme consisting of a boot camp, public speaking course, corporate visits, attitude training, neurolinguistic programming, guided business news paper (Economic Times) reading, and will be closely mentored by a set of experienced faculty supported by two psychologists. SIM has designed an unparalleled experiential induction programme so that you become mentally robust to undergo the M.B.A course and transit into a corporate career smoothly. You will also experience a transformational change in you and feel your self confidence and communication skills growing as you pass through the induction phase.

Pre Induction Project

You are expected to do a pre induction project during which you should visit one or two industries in your area and make a report on these. This report should be submitted on the day of reporting for the course. A separate handout on how to do the project and write the report will be given to you at the time of confirmation of your seat.
