Mission
The mission of the department is to be a centre of excellence for budding professionals so as to equip them with strong fundamental concepts, programming and problem solving skills with an exposure to emerging technologies by providing hands-on experience. | |
Department of Computer Science & Engineering
The department has around 240 students and about 19 staff members. Staff members from supporting departments also handle classes for our students. The students are not only trained in academic excellence but are also encouraged to acquire industry exposure through industrial visits, in-plant training and projects .The learning atmosphere being more practical oriented makes the transition from an educational institution to an industry effortless. Staff members from supporting departments of Electronics & Communication Engineering and Mathematics as well as staff from Saintgits Institute of Management (SIM) also handle classes for the students.
The department conducts a national level colloquium every year where the students have the chance to hear from, and interact with well known personalities in the academia as well as in industry who have excelled in the field of computer science and technology. Well experienced, dedicated and committed faculty members, enthusiastic and studious student community, skilled technical and supporting staff and an extremely supportive management are behind the success of the department | |
B.Tech Program
The four year B.Tech course in Computer Science & Engineering is affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University. During the 8 semesters of course work students learn the theoretical and practical aspects of Computer Science and Engineering. Through theory classes, laboratory sessions, seminar presentations and project works, students assimilate the various subjects being taught. The department has very good infrastructure and give importance to open source software. Advanced laboratories with high end machines running on free software distributions and proprietary software cater to the needs of the students. Continuous assessment through internal tests and final assessment through University examination is being carried out.
In addition to the regular academic curriculum, students are also being trained in specific technologies leading to international certifications. OCP, RHCE and CCNA trainings are currently going on. Students are also given special training to enhance their soft skills, logical reasoning and quantitative ability. The Foundation Program offered by Infosys through their Campus Connect agreement is of great value in making the students employable. |
