ASGEC (Association of SAINTGITS Electronics and Communication Students)

ASGEC - is a student association of SAINTGITS Electronics and communication. A hobby club is functioning under the guidance of ASGEC, which provides practical awareness to the student community. It conducts National level technical symposium called HORIZON every year. It provides exposure to emerging trends in electronics industry. A magazine named 'Tech Talk' is being published every year to enhance the creativity and technical temper of students.

Hobby Club

A Hobby Club is being organized for the students, where they can carry out small project works. A Hobby Club is being organized for the students, where they can carry out small project works. In association with hobby club an exhibition is conducted by our department on 19th March 2010.On every Fridays special sessions were conducted for students to develop various Electronic Circuits used in practical world.


 
ASGEC 2015- 2016

HORIZON 2K15

HORIZON2K15, the technical fest of the Electronics and Communication Department in association with ASGEC (Association of SAINTGITS Electronics and Communication students) was held on 31st July and 1st August. The activities of ASGEC for the year 2015-2016 was inaugurated on 31/08/2015, followed by the technical fest HORIZON 2K15. The registration for the technical fest started by 10.00 am .The overall participation hit 655 from various parts of Kerala for 8 technical events. As a highlight to the fest, a robot exhibition named as 'Robo-expo' has conducted for the first time in the history of SAINTGITS. Staff Co-ordinator was Er. Binu. K. Mathew. Project Manager was Mr. Amal Kurian Mathew and Assistant Project Managers were Mr. Ajith Abraham Varghese and Ms. Priya Susan Mathew.


 
ASGEC 2014- 2015
Horizon 2K14
HORIZON2K14, the technical fest of the Electronics and Communication  department in association with ASGEC(Association of SaintGits Electronics and Communication students) was held on 5th August  2014.The activities of ASGEC for the year 2014-2015 started with a technical talk on EMERGING TRENDS IN VLSI by Dr. Nisha Kuruvilla  (HOD of ECE, College Of Engineering , Chenganur)ON 5/8/'14, followed by the technical fest HORIZON 2K14.The registration for the technical fest started by 10.00 am .The overall participation hit 176 with an external participation of 101 from 10 colleges in and around Kerala. 7 events  were proposed for the fest . Inspite of the adverse climatic conditions, the ECE department was overwhelmed to have around 180 participants for HORIZON 2K14. Staff Co-ordinator was Er. Ashly John. Activities

  • A workshop on Android App Development was organized for S8 students on 31/03/2015. .The worksop was co-ordinated by Er.Jitto Niclovas.
  
  • A motivational talk  on How to prepare for writing aptitude tests in placement was delivered by Elbin Eldho Benny of S8ECE  on 06/04/2015

 

ASGEC 2013- 2014

The inauguration of the activities of ASGEC (Association Of SAINTGITS Electronics And Communication) for the academic year 2013-2014 was conducted on Tuesday,30th  July,2013 at 2:30 p.m. at College cultural centre. Er. Jaison George, Director of Canara Paper Mills Pvt. Ltd, Chethipuzha was the Chief Guest of the function. He was the former Director of Operations, New Concept Gaming Ltd and has also worked with Vodafone Group Services as Technology Manager. Shri. Thomas T. John, Director of SAINTGITS Group of Institutions presided over the function. Dr. M. C. Philipose, Principal of SAINTGITS College Of Engineering and Lt. Col. John Jacob, Chief Operating Officer of SAINTGITS Group Of Institutions felicitated the function. The proposed activities of ASGEC for the academic year 2013-2014 were presented by the Staff Convener of ASGEC, Er. Nishanth P R. Prof. Susan Abe, Head of the Department of Electronics and Communication honored the Chief Guest by presenting a memento. Prizes for the best two mini projects for the last academic year were also distributed during the function. The Heads of the various departments and other respected dignitaries also attended the Inauguration Function. The inauguration ceremony was followed by a technical talk and an interactive session on 'Modern Trends in Telecommunication' for the students of Electronics and Communications Department by the Chief Guest. Er. Jaison George also had an interactive session with the faculty of the ECE department.

Best Mini Project Award 2013-14

Under the guidance of project coordinators, Er. Jyothish Chandran G. and Er. Aravindhan A., the students of S7 ECE completed their mini projects during their sixth semester and a Mini Project Exhibition was conducted in the Communication Lab on 26/07/13. Faculty from the different departments and the third and fifth semester B.Tech, students visited the exhibition and the event turned out to be a grand success.   

During the Inauguration Ceremony of ASGEC, the coordinators of the ECE Hobby Club hosted the 'Best Project Awards Distribution'. Prizes were distributed to the students by    Mr. Thomas T.  John, Director SAINTGITS Group of Institutions. First prize went to project titled "External Speed Control of Motor Vehicle" done by Tojo Tom, Nanda Sathyan, Rugmini KP, Shemeem PS and Second prize went to project titled "Solar Tracking System" done by Vishnu CR, Vimal Kurien Sam, Anjali Mariam Varghese, Julia Sara Joseph.

The Best Project Award Distribution turned out to be a motivation to the students and projected the support of the management towards the innovative ideas, implemented by the students, with the help of their family.

HORIZON 2013

HORIZON2013,the technical fest of the Electronics and Communication  department in association with ASGEC(was held on 3rd September 2013. It was organised by the students of S7 ECE, 2010-2014 batch. The inaugural ceremony commenced at 10.30am at the cultural centre. The function was inaugurated by Er. Sijo Kuruvilla (CEO, Start-up village, Kochi) which was presided over by Sri. Thomas T John (Director, SAINTGITS group of institutions). The miniproject magazine - LEGHUKALPANA and the technical magazine - TECHTALK were released on the same day. The overall participation hit 416 with an overwhelming external participation of 328 from 24 colleges in and around Kerala. HORIZON2013 had 8 events which includes Quiz,Best Engineer,Star Of Horizon,Paper presentation,Tech Hunt,Robowar,Project presentation and Circuit Debugging. Staff Co-ordinator was Er. Nishanth P R. Project Manager was  Mr. Rajeev R and  Assistant Project Managers were  Mr. Rohit Daniel & Ms. Liya Joseph.
