M-Tech Degree in Mechanical Engineering

                                 SAINTGITS College of Engineering, Pathamuttom, was established by a group of committed educationalists, in the year 2002, with the objective of imparting quality technical education. It is an I.S.O. certified Institution, affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam and approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. Within this short span, the Institute has developed the experience and expertise to run Engineering Degree Courses efficiently and effectively. It is now recognized as one of the leading Technical Institutes in Kerala.

                             Right from the stages of inception, it has been maintaining high levels of standards in academic and extra-curricular realms of activities.  We offer B.Tech degree course in 6 Engineering disciplines and Masters degree courses in Mechanical Engineering (M.Tech. - Machine Design), Electrical Engineering (M.Tech. - Power Systems), Computer Applications (M.C.A) and Business Administration (M.B.A).  Since establishment of the institute, our students are continuously securing high ranks in the University. Alumni of the Institute are wide spread within and outside the country working at responsible positions. The college is also the venue of several national and state level seminars and symposiums and has emerged as the hub of technical education in the state.


                             M.Tech. in Machine Design program is approved by AICTE, and is affiliated to M G University Kottayam, Kerala. Machine Design Program is designed to equip students for professional careers in the Design Departments of heavy engineering Industry, Research Laboratories and Defense Organizations. Advanced subjects strengthen the students knowledge for the efficient designs with optimum material utilization. After the completion of this course the students are well equipped with the areas of mechanisms, design synthesis and machine dynamics which are helpful for them to join in research organizations like ISRO, DRDO and Public Sector companies. The program curriculum involves Analysis of static and dynamic forces to design machine elements to meet strength, safety, reliability and cost specifications. The program focuses on Design of Mechanisms and Components using Analytical, Numerical and Experimental approaches. It aims to provide knowledge of behavior of materials and systems in both elastic and plastic ranges, failure modes and mechanisms in both static and dynamic conditions.

                               We have established high profile laboratories exclusively for Post graduate studies in Machine Design. They are Experimental Stress Analysis Lab and Vibration measurements Lab. Under Mechanical Engineering department, a research cell is very active, which at present concentrate on the need of the hour, Alternate fuels. Our experts plan to do consultancy services to Industries, in the field of Condition Monitoring by vibration signature analysis. A full fledged Computer Laboratory is set up exclusively for P.G. section, with sufficient computer terminals and other peripherals, with internet facility. We have licensed softwares like ANSYS, Solidworks, Labview etc. Mechanical department subscribes for ASME e-journals, in addition to the hard copy subscriptions of international journals and also has a departmental library with ample titles for reference.
