The Central Library, functioning here as an information disseminating centre catering to the needs of students, researchers and staff community has a major role in paving the way for better academic excellence.The Central library spreads over to two floors with an area of 1120sq.m. Specialized collections of Books, Journals & Non-book materials are available in Basic Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Applied Science and Humanities. There is a collection of 45882 Volumes of Books , 187 National and International Print Journals and AICTE mandatory subscription of e journals packages of UG & PG. The SAINTGITS - Central Library has access to e-resources of ASCE Journals, ASME Journals, IEL online, Science Direct, EBSCO. We also have collections of Indian Standards Codes on DVDs. The Library has a collection of NPTEL video courses in the different fields of education.

Library Automation
The SOUL software is used for Library Automation.SOUL Software which is an integrated multi-user management system that supports all in-house operations of the library. Bibliographic records of books available in the library can be accessed through the SOUL OPAC.

Reprographic Section
Library is providing the latest reprographic facility to students to disseminate material quickly and cost effectively aiding better learning on campus.
Open access system is followed in the Library.
Strict and absolute silence shall be observed in the Library.
Cell Phone to be switched off inside the Library.
Bags/Handbags should be kept at the personal belonging desk.
Members are requested to keep their belongings at the entrance of the Library. However they are advised not to leave cell phones, purse, money, credit card and other valuables in the handbag outside the library. These items are liable to be lost.
Library users are strictly prohibited from taking the borrowed and stamped books again inside the library.
If the due date falls on a holiday for the Library, the next working day will be taken as the due date.
Books will be issued to the members only on producing the Membership card.
If any book is lost or damaged beyond repair, the person responsible shall replace it with a new copy or pay double the cost of the recent price and handling charges or as may be decided by the librarian.
Membership Cards are not transferable. Books will not be issued to students on the Membership Card of staff members.
Any kind of marking, underlining, clipping of books is absolutely forbidden. Readers shall be held responsible for any damage done to the book belonging to the Library and shall be required to replace such book or pay the value thereof.
Absence from the college will not be allowed as an excuse for the delay in the return of books.
Under special circumstances, the Librarian may refuse the issue of books or recall the books already issued from any member without assigning any reason thereof.
The following conditions are to be followed for the renewal of books.
[i]The book has to be produced in the Library for renewal.
[ii] More than one renewal will not be allowed.
The borrower will be responsible for any loss or non-return of any books issued against his / her original or duplicate Library Member ID Card.
Reference books, Newspapers, Magazines, Journals should not be taken out.
New books received will be on display for a week.
'No Dues Certificate' will be issued only after returning the borrowed books and ID card and also paying any dues outstanding against him/her.
Loss of ID card should be reported to the Librarian immediately. Duplicate ID card will be issued on payment of Rs.50/- . Members shall be responsible for any loss which the library may suffer due to the loss or misuse of their ID Card. Members found using the ID Card which are declared as lost will be charged a sum of Rs. 100/- as penalty.
Members are requested not to replace any document taken out of the racks as there is a chance of misplacing the same. Document after use may be left on the tables.
Members should register their presence in the register kept at the entrance.
Upon any infringement of the library rules, members shall forfeit the privileges of admission and membership of the library.
Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against any member found violating the rules, misbehaving, abusing the library staff or behaving in an indecent manner.
All the dues must be cleared before the respective University Examination.
The entire current journals received in the Central Library are displayed in specially designed Steel Display Racks in Reading Hall and also back volumes arrange under broad subjects kept in first floor.
