Department of Computer Science and Engineering started M.Tech Computer Science and Systems Engineering course in the year 2014 with a vision to produce post graduates who can apply their knowledge in industry as well as in research and development activities. The department boasts prominent professors with vast academic experience who constantly thrive for excellence. This has enabled us to bring out a rank holder for the course within this short span. We offer most modern infrastructure facilities to help our students scale new heights of glory. Our students are given specialized workshops and talks from experts to enable them to expand the necessary knowledge spectrum.
The programme equally covers two main streams of Civil Engineering, the Geotechnical Engineering and Structural Engineering. The curriculum of this programme was developed by veterans of our Department, under university guidance. Department was first in India to offer a masters programme blending structural and geotechnical streams.
Foundation design is a most challenging field in civil engineering. The nature of soil tends to change from point to point, and it changes with depth. Designing a foundation needs high level of knowledge about soil mechanics and analytical skills. Foundations are the most critical part of any structure. Higher you want to rise, deeper you have to go and more problems need to be solved for heavier and higher structures. Geotechnical needs to be integrated well with structural design and architecture to give its due importance. This postgraduate course on Geomechanics and Structures will create a civil engineer with strong ground on geotechnical engineering as well as structural engineering.
This course is supported by Advanced Geotechnical Laboratory where we have high end equipments like triaixial testing machine and software like PLAXIS 2D, 3D, ANSYS etc for soil modelling. Event students from other institute utilize our labs.
Why Structural Engineering and Construction Management at Saintgits?
This course is tailored for civil engineers wishing to become senior consultant managers in both structural consulting firms and contracting organisations, and is ideal for graduate engineers starting their career in the construction industry. It successfully combines structural design with advanced construction management, which will enable you to perform at a managerial level for a high level structural consultant or contractors.
The course is supported by an excellent well equipped structural research laboratory, in which high load testing floor facility is available, with loading frame of 50 T and its accessories. We have data acquisition systems, digital load cells, load indicators, strain gauges, non destructive testing facility like rebound hammer, CTM of 300T capacity etc particularly for reseach alone.We have facility to test beams up to 4 m, slabs up to 2x2m, columns up to 2m height. Even students from other nearby institutes utilize these research facilities.
The course is also supported by Design Studio lab where 35 high end computers with licensed software like SAP, ETABS, Primavera and STAAD are available, which are the software used by structural and management industries. We have established an ANSYS research facility, in which 100 licenses of ANSYS software, a finite element package is installed for the research purpose.
This course will be a good platform for Civil Engineers where they get exposed to advanced structural design and analysis, finite element analysis, advanced material sciences, advanced construction management, earthquake engineering,structural experimental techniques and software analytical techniques.
M.Tech. in VLSI and Embedded Systems is a two year programme offered by the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala. This programme covers the fundamentals and engineering aspects in the design and development of Integrated Circuits and Systems. VLSI technology has emerged out as a successful conglomeration of material science and electronics engineering. The state of the art VLSI technology requires through knowledge in physics of semiconductor devices as well as design and development of electronic circuits from its basic components. The active professional body membership in IEEE SSCS - the specialized community in Solid State Devices across the globe - helps our graduates to share and enhance in their domain knowledge by interacting with the industry and research gurus in this area. We organize regular interactive sessions by experts from industry and academia along with conferences, workshops and seminars in the thrust areas. In association with IEEE SSCS, industries from VLSI and Embedded domain, we offer specialized hands on training to our graduate’s on high-end industry supported syllabus. Our students have access to industry specific laboratories (Cadence VLSI framework, Ansys campus wide license, Xilinix VLSI Design Suite with advanced FPGA and SoC boards, Xilinx partial reconfiguration tool and OrCAD EDA tool) with industrial collaboration. A well stacked library with world class journals and on line resources are also provided.

M.Tech. in Power Systems is a two year post graduate programme offered by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at SAINTGITS. This programme provides an advanced training in power systems covering theoretical and practical aspects of power generation, distribution and management. The students are connected to the industry trends and developments in power and energy sectors through various activities of the department. The vibrant professional body societies like the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IEEE IAS) and the newly started IEEE Power and Energy society of SAINTGITS have paved way for the students to interact with the industry professionals and academicians in India and abroad through workshops, seminars, conferences, distinguished lecture series and visits. The graduates can pursue their research in the field of clean and renewable energy systems, power systems and power electronics, intelligent energy distribution and SMART GRID technologies.
Our department has high end laboratories like the Power Systems lab, used for advanced research and training in High voltage engineering, Power system protection and control and the Power Electronics and Energy Research (PEER) Lab /ANSYS Research Lab, utilized for research in areas related to Power Electronics, Drives and Control, Power Systems, Renewable Energy Systems, FACTS and Power Quality measurements. Our labs are equipped with advanced FPGA boards for various motor controls, Semikron rectifier/inverter kit, DSO –Tektronix and Fluke Meter Set. Also we have multi user and campus license for ANSYS, MATLAB, ORCAD, PSPICE, ETAP, PSCAD and AUTOCAD.

M.Tech. in Telecommunication Engineering is a two year programme offered by the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Kerala. Admission to the M. Tech. Programme Candidates who have been awarded or qualified for the award of the Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology, from an Institution approved by AICTE are eligible for admission to the M. Tech., Programme. Eligibility of candidates having MCA/MSc qualifications will be decided from time to time by following the guidelines issued by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Government of Kerala and notified separately. Other important eligibility criteria are as listed out by the Director of Technical Education with the approval of the Government of Kerala.
Candidates qualified in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE ) and admitted to the M. Tech. programme are eligible to receive Half Time Teaching Assistantship ( HTTA) as per the rules of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)/Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
Sponsored candidates from Industries, R&D organizations, National Laboratories as well as Educational Institutions, with a bachelor’s degree in engineering are eligible for admission to the M. Tech. programme.
Foreign nationals whose applications are received through Indian Council of Cultural Relations, Government of India are also eligible for admission to the M. Tech. programme.
Announcements for M. Tech. Programmes will be made by the DTE, Government of Kerala.
Selection of candidates for the M. Tech programme will be done centrally or monitored by the Directorate of Technical Education as per the guidelines given on this by the Government of Kerala
The number of candidates to be admitted to each M. Tech stream will be as per the approval of the University which shall be based on decision on this given by the All India Council for Technical Education.
Admission will be complete only on meeting all the other requirements mentioned in the letter of admission and on payment of the fees
Candidates who have the Associate Membership of Professional Bodies that are approved by the University and have qualified in GATE shall also be eligible for admission to the M. Tech. programme.
The reservation policy of the Government of Kerala and the Government of India shall be followed in admission to the M. Tech. programme.
All admission will be governed by the procedure laid down for this by the Director of Technical Education, Kerala and the Government of Kerala.
Notwithstanding all that is stated above, the admission policy may be modified from time to time by the University, particularly to confirm to directions from the Government of Kerala and the Government of India.

Application may be submitted in the prescribed form available here or at Corporate Office on payment of Rs.750/- by cash. Filled up application form and the self attested copies of the required documents are to be forwarded to the Corporate Office either in person or by post. The Application form can also be downloaded from this website. Please attach DD for Rs.750/- (Rupees Seven hundred fifty only) drawn in favour of SAINTGITS College of Engineering, payable at Kottayam along with the downloaded application form.
Admission is strictly on the basis of merit. Govt Quota Seats will be filled as per the DTE Rank order of the candidates applied. Reservation category Seats available in the Govt Quota also filled from the DTE Rank order of the candidates applied. Selection of Management Quota Seats will be based on the Rank list published based on the index marks obtained on considering the % of Marks up to 6th Semester in the Qualifying Examination and Gate Scores.
