About Programme

B. Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) is a four year professional undergraduate programme that enables students to take up a career in the promising fields of Electrical and Electronics. The programme has strong emphasis on engineering fundamentals and offers a high degree of flexibility which can provide a wide diversity of experience.

Graduates from the B.Tech. EEE programme can look forward to bright and challenging careers in design and development, manufacturing, marketing, management and other exciting fields. Apart from commercial and government organizations, graduates of the EEE Department are also highly sought after by technology intensive companies that include biomedical, communications, computers, data storage, electronics, electrical energy systems, networking, semiconductors, software and intelligent systems.

Electrical and Electronics Engineering at SAINTGITS has a long standing tradition of excellence. The department is committed to advancement of the frontiers of knowledge in Electrical Engineering and to provide the students with a rewarding learning experience. The department has a healthy mixture of young and experienced faculty members, all of whom display high levels of enthusiasm and dedication. Apart from teaching and research, the faculty members are actively involved in organizing technical workshops, camps and industrial visits to create an environment of experiential learning.

About Programme

The Electrical and Electronics Department launched the M.Tech course in Power Systems in the year 2008 and has a yearly intake of 36 students in two batches. The department is equipped with a fortifying and veteran group of teachers and technical staff with prodigious and vibrant potential. It is reputed for its excellence in imparting high quality education to post graduate students.

The M. Tech. course in Power Systems aims at training graduate engineers in the field of power systems. This course deals with the state of the art techniques in power system analysis, computer applications, optimization, control, security, dynamics and stability of power systems, HVDC transmission,FACTS, industrial electronics and controls, power electronics and drives, wind and solar energy conversion systems and advanced topics which are very much needed for today's power system engineers. Projects of practical relevance in these areas are undertaken in the final semester of the course.

Scope of Employment

Power engineers work in a wide variety of industrial and commercial facilities. Many industrial facilities require their power engineers to operate not only on the support utilities, but also on the processing sections of the operation. Facilities that typically require power engineers include (but are not limited to): hydrocarbon processing plants (refineries, gas plants etc.), thermal oil recovery (oil sands), power generation stations, chemical and petrochemical plants, office buildings, mines etc. Defence organisations like DRDO, Research and development laboratories like CPRI, MNCs like ABB, Alstom, TATA, ReliancEnergy, AREVA etc. are a few opportunities ahead for aspiring students.
