People for Future, Future for People.
The Mentoring programme of Saintgits Institute of Management for its MBA students aims at contributing to developing overall personality and competency. The programme has multiple objectives as the course progresses, in addition to monitoring and supporting academic performance. Mentor Groups represent diversity of the class composition and each group is led by a faculty.
As the students of MBA come from diverse backgrounds, the initial part of the mentoring programme - during semester 1 - aims at bringing the students to an MBA platform and disciplined work. The students are oriented towards a vision and mission for life. Clarity about life and career objectives are generated. Time management and goal setting sessions are held to achieve this.
The MBA course shifts from general to specific with focus on functional areas in the second semester. Students are encouraged to take up club and association activities which are based on functional areas. All students participate in management meets thereby exposing themselves to different cultures and meet students from other campuses.
Students move to specialization areas and focus is now on building sector based knowledge in the second year.
The important activities in the third and fourth semester aim at enhancing employability, which are done as a collective effort of students and faculty. The mentoring programme help students identify the right sectors based on their interest, identify potential organizations to work and build competency in aptitude tests, group discussion and interview skills by holding frequent activities.
