Saintgits wins the prestigious IDA – STEM Award for Community Development.
Model Examination for 5th semester UG and 3rd semester PG students will be conducted from 19th January 2021 onwards.
Mr. Sanju P. Cherian, Department of Business Administration won the Teacher Felicitation Award -2019-20 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. Congratulations Mr. Sanju P. Cherian
Ms. Angel Baby and Ms. Gayathri R. from final year BCA of Saintgits College of Applied Sciences bagged the first placement offers in the new campus recruitment season. Both of them placed as Associate Analyst in Deloitte.


Website for Emmanuel Hope Center



Department of BCA commenced a new venture on software development and IT  consultant service. Jerin Kuriakose of final year BCA developed and hosted a website for a charitable trust Emmanuel Hope Center

Hour of Code

The students of BCA 2017-20 conducted an awareness class about “Hour Of Code” on 15th Feb  2019  for the students of Jerusalem Mount Higher Secondary School,Vakathanam. Hour of code is a concept to help students to improve their logical and reasoning ability

Digital Awareness to the Laborers of Angel Poymers

  December 2017.The program mainly focused on digital awareness to women. The program covered topics like how to ensure safety of children in the cyber world, how to browse safely etc




Digital Marketing

 As part of department extension activity, an outreach program was conducted on the topic “Digital marketing” .The program was conducted on 2/12/2017 for the members of Srisakthi kudumbasree, KVP:5/27/1/4 ward number V, Vadavathoor, Vijayapuram Panchayath.




Rainwater Harvesting

  The students of BCA 2016-19 conducted an awareness class about rainwater harvesting on 3rd March 2018  for the members of Shalom Kudumbasree Unit, Erumappetty, Manarcad.took a class about the hazards of water wastage and the need for water conservation with the help of video and powerpoint presentation.




Awareness class on Life style diseases

  As a part of extension activity a class on “LIFE STYLE DISEACES” conducted on 25/09/2018 at 2:00 pm- 3:00 pm for the people over 60 years near malikamukku, pathamuttom. The class  mainly focused to make them aware about the diseases which may affect their health.



On 8th March, 2018 the ‘HeForShe’ club of Saintgits College of Applied Sciences organized a flash mob as part of International Women’s Day. The venue was Kalathipady, Kottayam.




Eye Camp

 The Department of Corporate Economics, English and Mathematics conducted a one Day Eye medical camp in the college in association with Eye Microsurgery and Laser centre, Thiruvalla on Wednesday, 20/11/2019 from 9.30 am to 2.30 pm. . The team consisted of five members from the Eye Microsurgery and Laser Centre, Thiruvalla which included a doctor and four optometricians. 65 people from the general public, 48 from the teaching and administrative staff and 103 from among the students participated for the eye camp. The camp was very successful as the general public expressed great satisfaction about the organization, eye testing and the hospitality

Old Age Home Visit



The 2016-19 batch students were taken for an old age visit at Hanna Bhavan, Ayamanam on 20/12/2018. Students had a good interaction with the inmates. An amount of Rs.6000 was collected and hand over to the old age. The accompanying staffs included Head of the department Dr. K. K. John and faculties Mr. Manu Mohan, Ms. Ancy Anthrayose and Ms. Reshmi Susan Jacob.

School Visit

As part of extension activity, six students of final year batch (2016-19) along with faculties visited St. Jude Public School, Puthupally on December 7th 2018. A quiz programme was conducted for the school students. The various topics covered in the quiz includes general awareness, economic concepts and environmental issues. They were accompanied by faculty Lr. Manu Mohan and Lr. Ancy Anthrayose

World AIDS Day - Flash Mob


 As part of World Aids Day, a seminar on AIDS awareness was conducted on 1st December 2018 in the college seminar hall at 9:00 am. The programme was inaugurated by Lt. Col .John Jacob . ) Dr. CEM Roy, MBBS, DCH, St. Thomas Hospital, Chethipuzha took on session for 45 minutes. The session was oriented to develop insight into issues of HIV/AIDS among youth. Dr. Shobha Salimon, Homeopathic Practitioner also addressed the students on AIDS awareness.

The session was also followed by a film show by the film club. After the forenoon session, the final year students performed flashmob at Njaliyakuzhy bus stand, Kottayam.

Flood Relief Activites


Students of the department headed by HOD Dr. K. K. John and faculty Lr. Athira. S. Kumar was involved in various rescue activities during the flood period mainly at camp of Government L/P, School, Ithithanam. Altogether 550 victims were rehabilitated in the camp. The students initiated and distributed cereals, provisions, bedsheets, blankets, buckets, mug and sanitary items for children and women at the relief camp. The convener of the camp was Prof. Tomichan Joseph, member of M.G. University syndicate.

Visit to Psychological Rehabilitation Centre


The students of the first year class (2016-19 batch) were taken to Jeevan Jyothi Ashram, a Psychological Rehabilitation Centre , at Kurichy as part of extension activity on 22nd March 2017.They were accompanied by faculty Lr. Athira S Kumar and Lr. Reshmi Susan Jacob. Students got a good opportunity to interact with the inmates and they spent almost 2 hours in the Ashram.An amount of Rs. 8,500 was collected by the students and was donated to the inmates of the Ashram.

Donate Your Voice


As an extension activity from the department an initiative for developing 10,000 question bank for visually challenged people happened on June 26, 2018. The students of BBA recorded about 10,000 questions and answers of PSC examinations under the leadership of Lr. Sanju P Cherian. The recorded question bank was transferred to a CD and handed over to officials of KOTTU Charitable Trust.

Online Banking-Cashless Society

As an extension activity from the department, an interactive session and class was organized on the topic “online banking – with live examples” by second year BBA students accompanied with Lr. Pallavi Abraham on 18 th December 2016 at Manna Ayalkuttam, Pathamuttom. The Ayalkuttam consists of 14 members.

A Visit to Mercy Home

M.com Students of Saintgits College of Applied Science conducted a visit to mercy home on 17 October 2017, as part of Anti poverty day.

                           A group of nine including Nikhil sir visited mercy home to give the contributions collected by M.com students from college mates and staff .A part from money other essentials were also contributed like rice, sugar etc.

The Commerce Association celebrated “World Environment Day” on 5th June, 2018 in the college premises. The theme for World Environment Day 2018 was “Beat Plastic Pollution”. By choosing this theme, it is aimed that people may strive to change their everyday lives to reduce the heavy burden of plastic pollution

Digital Banking Awareness Programme


On February 3rd 2018 and February 4th2018,the class S6A conducted a ‘Digital Banking Awareness Programme’ with the motto “Go Cashless,GoDigital”. The class was conducted for Self Help Groups comprising women in and around Pathamuttom. It was conducted with an initiative to create awareness among women about the existing trend of digital payments. The programme was focussed on imparting knowledge to women and contributes towards women empowerment. The members of kudumbashree (Kripa Kudumbashree Reg no K|3|434|17) were given a detailed explanation regarding the system for mobile payments and functions regarding the app-Paytm and PhonePe 


International Day Against Drug Abuse And Illicit Trafficking

26th June is observed as the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. It is an expression of its determination to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the goal of an international society free of drug abuse. The theme for International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking 2018 is: “Listen First – Listening to children and youth is the first step to help them grow healthy and safe.” It is an initiative to increase support for prevention of drug use, which is based on science and is thus an effective investment in the well-being of children and youth, their families and their communities. 


Fenne Fest –Jack Of All Traits

As a part of declaring JACKFRUIT as the state’s official fruit by State Agriculture Minister V S Sunil Kumar on 21st march 2018, to give a fillip to the production and sale of jackfruit and its value-added products. 2nd year M.COM students of Saintgits College of Applied Sciences organized a recipe competition ‘Fenne Fest’ commemorating the same for the students of commerce department. The fest was held on 23rd march 2018 at 10.30 am in the seminar hall.



Goods and Service Tax (GST), which embodies the principle of “one nation ,one tax, one market” is expected to have a great impact on every industry and every consumer. It is India’s biggest tax reform in 70 years of independence. GST replaced multiple cascading taxes levied by central and state governments as per the provisions of The Constitution (one hundred and first amendment)act 2017. In the scenario of GST , it is very important to create an awareness on GST among the citizens of India, especially among the commerce students who are supposed to deal with different aspects of GST. So as a part of the social responsibility of our college, the students of Saintgits College of Applied Sciences, Pathamuttom, took an awareness class on the topic GST in the name “one nation ,one tax, one market” on 16 August 2017 , from 10.30 am to 12.00 pm for the commerce students of St.Joseph’s Higher Secondary School for girls ,Changanacherry.
