Internet of Things Lab

Faculty development programme by Fr. Cyriac Kottayarukil held on April. 4, 2019 at Saintgits Institute of Management.
Congratulations to Abel Gregory, Nithin Zacharia, Rinu K John and Vino M Mathew(S8 AEI) for securing First prize in project competition held at VISAT, Ernakulam and third prize at Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science, Ernakulam.

Saintgits is one among few colleges in Kerala to receive funds from Kerala start-up mission, Government of Kerala for setting up the IoT (Internet of Things) Lab. The IoT is the network of physical objects or ‘things’ embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and connectivity to enable objects to exchange data. IoT allows direct integration between the physical world and computer-based systems, helping to connect people, processes and devices.

The objective of IoT lab is two-fold

  • Focus on research – design and development of IoT enabled technologies which are cost effective and socially relevant.
  • To develop trained manpower (through student projects/research) in the field of IoT based application development.

Students and researchers can utilize our IoT test bed available in IoT lab to get hands on exposure on IoT platform. This IoT testbed is an open and developing ecosystem of edge devices, communication protocols, cloud-based platforms and applications with a focus on cost effective IoT technologies.
