Affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University,Thiruvananthapuram and approved by All India Council for Technical Education as well as Government of Kerala, this regular fulltime MBA course has 27 core courses, projects and viva voce spread over six trimesters (four months each), successful completion of which leads to award of an MBA degree by APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, Thiruvananthapuram directly. 

SIM MBA programme is oriented completely towards effective corporate placement. The students are expected to reside in the hostel and work on a 24 hours basis on all days. Often there will be programmes on week ends and holidays to simulate the corporate reality. The daily working hours stretch to 6:00 p.m with time bound home tasks and assignments which easily would take bulk of the night.

Corporate Exposure: We ensure that the students are exposed to corporate at five levels: 

  • Induction visits to several large manufacturing industries like Kitex, Anna Aluminium, Meat Products of India, Tolins Tyres, Meriboy Ice cream, Nirapara, Metcon Steels, Traco Cables, Hindusthan News prints, Kelachandra, Kerala Feeds, Camco, KEL, etc and talks by senior managers and  business associations officials, locally and in other states. This is done prior to commencement of the curriculum.

  • Captains' talks by company managers are held frequently( minimum 1 corporate talk per month)  as part of the MBA course study.

  • Management association membership is given to all students, allowing them to attend monthly meetings and interact with practicing managers.

  • Corporate projects for students are compulsory. There are three projects to be completed for trimester.

    • An organizational study project
    • A marketing project
    • A project based on the student’s area of specialization
  • Corporate seminars outside of the Institute are a must and all students must attend at least one seminar every trimester.

Creating Competitiveness

SIM students take part in several competitions across other recognised management institutes. Each student must attend at least one competition. The Institute sponsors partcipation fees, registration and travel cost.



Creating Focus: 

Most students are not focused on the sector and functional area in which they prefer to work when they join. Through sector study, mentoring and corporate exposure we guide them to their focus area and through the projects we enable them to acid test their focus so that when they apply for a job, they are clear on the sector and the functional area they want to be in.


Mentoring and Personality Development   

At SIM, students are exposed to focused mentoring that is based on defence officers’ training. Divided into groups of 15, with a Core Faculty Mentor, the students are trained in key skills such as, communication and articulation, presentation, self discipline, ability to work in a diverse environment, team work, collaboration, application of IT, critical thinking and problem solving, managing stress, interpersonal skills, initiative skills, and assertiveness. This mentoring includes specialist counseling under expert psychologists, and psychometric personality tests.


Awards and Scholarships

Best Outgoing Student Award

This award is given to a final year student for exemplary performance in both academic and non academic areas.

Best Project Award

This is given to a final year student for innovative and insightful research projects in management. Projects are rated on various parameters, including research rigor, creativity, originality and depth of analysis.

Merit Cum Means Scholarship

Students from economically weak families with scores of more than 80 percent in the previous graduating exam are eligible for this scholarship of Rs 400,000 per year. If more than one student qualifies, the corpus will be equally divided among them.

Saintgits Scholarships

Graduates of Saintgits College of Engineering and Saintgits College of Applied Sciences are eligible for this scholarship, the amount of which is decided via personal interview.



SIM is a research-focused business school. The Institute provides its faculty with all infrastructure and other facilities necessary to carry out the best possible research, which includes online databases, full sponsorship to attend training and conferences and present papers in them, internal and external FDPs, and publication of articles in refereed journals.

SIM Research Centre is used by Anna University, Coimbatore as well as by the faculty of the Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi,for their Ph. D. program in Management.
