NSS Tech Cell

The motto of N.S.S. is to evoke in every individual the feeling of 'Not me, But you' and involve college youth in social service. The NSS Tech unit of our college actively engages in various social service activities in and around the college. They organize festival celebrations, Blood donation camps, medical awareness camps, distribution of clothes, books etc. The overall objective of the scheme is educational and service to the community and is aimed at developing the overall personality of the students in such a way so that the students emerge as responsible individuals encompassing the virtues of life. NSS volunteers are an asset to the society. NSS Unit helps to develop a sense of service, team spirit and dignity of labour. The various program conducted by the NSS have brought about a remarkable change in their outlook and their attitude towards life and society. It underlines that the welfare of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of society on the whole. Our NSS unit is acting as a catalyst to build up the right type of leadership in an Institution.

  • Identify the needs and problems of the community and involve them in problem-solving

  • Organize events to increase awareness among community members and involve them in social work so that they can work hand-in-glove with students

Ullasatheeram cleaning & Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations

As a part of Manaveeyam, beautification and cleaning at Padiyarakadavu, was carried out on October 2nd under the banner of Ullasatheeram. The programme started by 7:30 in the morning and was successfully completed by noon. Around 100 volunteers actively participated.

Manaveeyam Pledge

Date: 2.10.2016

The one week long manaveeyam programmes come to an end by the manaveeyam pledge. The pledge was taken by the POs and APOs and Volunteer secretary whole heartedly.

Adopted School for Empowerment

As per the information got from the technical cell office we adopted the school Govt. L.P. School Pathamuttom for the uplift and to increase the facilities.

Children’s day Celebrations

Date : 14-11-2016

Our unit conducted children’s day celebrations at government L.P School Pathamuttom. Ms. Babalu Sara Koshy, Counsellor and Welfare officer of Saintgits College of Engineering conducted an interactive session about Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru. NSS student volunteers helped the L.P school children to make paper carry bags. The Children’s day celebration concluded with sweet distributions. It was really a wonderful experience for the students and as well as for the NSS volunteers.

Visharehitha Vishu

Date: 22.11.2016 – 24.11.2016

Visharehitha Vishu activity mainly aims for the cultivation of organic vegetables from our college by NSS volunteers. This activity includes clearing lands, preparation of land or grows bags, sowing crops or vegetables, proper irrigation, and harvesting. As an initial phase of the activity NSS volunteers started clearing of the lands near to snack bar of SAINTGITS college of Engineering from 4.10pm to 5.15pm on the above mentioned days.

Women’s Day –National Integration Day

As a part of National Integration Week on Women’s Day the NSS Technical cell of Saintgits College of Engineering conducted essay writing, painting and digital poster designing competition. The topic of essay writing competition was “Status of women in Kerala- A comparision between ancient and modern times”.

National Integration Pledge

Date : 24-11-2016

National Integration pledge is taken during the celebration to preserve and strengthen the liberty and honesty of the India. Pledge affirms that non violence, peace and faiths should be continued in order to settle all the differences as well as disputes of languages, culture, religions, regions, and political objections. The Volunteer Secretary administers the National Integration Pledge to the NSS volunteers of the SAINTGITS College of Engineering

.AIDS Day celebration

Date : 01-12-2016

World Aids Day observed annually on December 1st, is dedicated to raising awareness to the Aids pandemic caused by the spread of HIV infection. UNAIDS started organizing the World AIDS Day campaign to be celebrated with the particular annual themes for better global awareness about the disease. The theme for World AIDS Day 2016 is Hands Up for #HIV Prevention. As to create awareness and to Hands up for the prevention the NSS Volunteers distributed the red ribbon - the universal symbol of awareness and support for those living with HIV- to all the faculties of Saintgits College of Engineering.
