Product Design
After two semesters of a common foundation programme which gives them basic skills and though processes for a career in design, students who select Product design as their discipline learn more aspects of their discipline though lectures, assignments and projects. They learn product sketching, forms, colour, materials, finishes, 3d modelling, ergonomics and do projects in toys, healthcare, consumer products, furniture, transportation design. They also learn interaction design, packaging, branding, immersive media design, exhibition design and more to get a varied exposure. Courses in sustainable design, system design and an exposure to design practice and management makes them industry ready and planet-friendly. Writing a paper exposes them to research and by the final project, they would have identified their focus area.
