Organic Farming

On 4th September 2024, the Nature and Organic Club organized a hands-on farm activity for 20 enthusiastic students of organic and nature club. The session was part of the ongoing activity stint, aimed at promoting sustainable agricultural practices.

The event commenced with an instructional class on how to properly fill a grow bag. Students were taught the significance of soil composition and moisture retention in ensuring healthy plant growth. After the initial session, students eagerly engaged in planting seedlings of ladies’ fingers, applying their new skills in a practical setting.

Following this, a special tree planting session was conducted, where our beloved principal, Dr. Mathew Jacob, led the way by planting a sapling, symbolizing the institution’s commitment to nature conservation. He was joined by IQAC Coordinator Asst. Prof. Seethu John, NAAC Coordinator Asst. Prof. Arun Padmanabhan, and Organic Club In-Charges Assistant Professors Punnya Sudhakaran, Aparana Anilkumar, and Krithi K Krishna. Together, they inspired the students to actively participate in ecological preservation.

The event concluded with a reflection on the importance of such activities in fostering environmental awareness among students. It was a fulfilling experience that left everyone with a deeper understanding of sustainable farming practices.
