Industrial visit for the Semester III BBA students
The Department of BBA organised an industrial visit for the Semester III BBA students to Akay Natural Ingredients Private Limited, Ernakulam, on 13 October 2026. The visit was organised with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to industrial operations and helping them understand the application of theoretical concepts in a real-world business environment.
During the visit, students observed the various stages involved in the extraction of different spices and gained insights into the processes through which natural ingredients are processed to obtain valuable products. They learned about the concept of value addition and how the value of raw materials can be enhanced at different stages of production through appropriate processing techniques. This helped students understand the importance of production efficiency, resource utilisation, and quality in the manufacturing industry.
The students were also introduced to various factory equipment and machinery used in the production process. They learned about the functions of different equipment and their role in ensuring smooth and efficient industrial operations. Special attention was given to the safety protocols followed within the factory premises, highlighting the importance of workplace safety, proper handling of equipment, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
The visit also provided students with an opportunity to understand the practical aspects of industrial management, including the coordination of production activities, the importance of maintaining quality standards, and the need for systematic processes in a manufacturing organisation. By observing the actual working environment, students could relate concepts studied in their classrooms to real industrial practices.

Inauguration of Magnum
The Department of Business Administration, in association with IQAC, inaugurated the Management Association – MAGNUM on 18th August 2026 at the DB Seminar Hall, with 142 participants. The event began with the ceremonial lamp lighting. Dr. Siby Joseph K delivered an inspiring keynote, stressing the importance of skill development, resume preparation, and entrepreneurial thinking as essential tools for success in today’s competitive environment. His talk motivated students to embrace innovation, risk-taking, and perseverance. The program imbibed in the participants the confidence to strengthen their skills, craft professional resumes, and pursue entrepreneurial opportunities with confidence.
Dr. P.M.Koyakutty, Advisor, Indian Medical Association, Kerala, initiated the session with an insightful introduction to COLS (Compression Only Life Support). He elaborated on common causes of unconsciousness, Step-by-step guidelines for managing such emergencies, techniques to sustain life until professional help arrives.
Mr. Sajesh C K, Fire & Rescue Officer, Fire & Rescue Station, Changanassery, led the core session with a powerful and practical presentation on fire safety.

– Common causes of fire outbreaks in residential and institutional settings
– Evacuation protocols and safe exit strategies
– Use of fire extinguishers and basic firefighting tools
– Emergency contact procedures and coordination with rescue services
– Psychological preparedness and crowd control during fire emergencies
During the visit, the students were introduced to various activities involved in the newspaper and media industry, including news gathering, reporting, editing, page designing, printing, production, circulation, and distribution. They gained an understanding of how different departments coordinate with one another to ensure the timely production and delivery of the newspaper. The students also had the opportunity to observe the printing and production processes and understand the role of technology and machinery in large-scale newspaper production. The visit enabled them to relate classroom concepts such as management, organisational structure, operations, communication, coordination, marketing, and supply chain management to actual business operations.
The industrial visit to Malayala Manorama was an enriching learning experience that provided students with practical knowledge beyond the classroom. It enhanced their understanding of how a large and established organisation operates through the effective coordination of people, technology, resources, and processes. The visit also helped students develop greater awareness of the professional work environment and gain practical insights into the functioning of the media industry. The visit concluded with the students returning to college by 1pm.
