INTRODUCTION
YOUNG INDIANS (Yi)
Young Indians (Yi) is a movement for Indian Youth to converge, lead, co-create and influence India’s future. As an integral part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), a non- government, not-for-profit, industry led and industry managed organization playing a proactive role in India’s development process.. The objective is to create a bridge, a platform for the students to work in cross functional teams with a broad objective of enhancing their leadership skills and giving back to the nation.

YUVA is one of the most active focus areas within Young Indians by which Yi members engage students from across the country in various initiatives that the students conceptualize, plan and execute. ACTIVITY REPORTS
Instagram Page & Logo Launch
An instagram page was launched for Yuva by Mr. Antony Joseph and our principal Dr. K. K. John on arts day (11th January 2023). This is to initiate the awareness of Yuva among students. A logo was designed for Yuva to be displayed in the webpage.
Social Visits
Students of 1st Year B.com Computer Applications [B] batch visited Blossom Valley Therapy Centre at Pambady on 04/01/2023.
Foodfest 23
On 11th January 2023 under Entrepreneurship and Accessibility Vertical, the team organized a food fest with varying kinds of delicacies prepared by volunteering students to sell.
Dhanam BFSI SUMMIT 2023
Dhanam BFSI Summit 2023 was South India’s biggest finance and investment summit. It was a day event featuring stimulating speeches, panel discussions and interactive sessions by most prominent experts in the BFSI sector. Team of 5 students and 1 faculty attended the session as part of Yuva, student chapter at Le Merdien , Kochi on 22.2.2023. The team has won the best report of the summit.
WOMEN WHO INSPIRE
International Women’s Day is a popular day centered on the celebration of womanhood, and promotes the achievements of women around the world. In order to appreciate such an auspicious day, the YUVA team of Saintgits College of Applied Sciences, Pathamuttom, Kottayam conducted a session Women Who Inspire on 08-03-2023. The resource persons called for the event were Dr.Susan Eapen and Ms. Harsha Puthussery.
EXEMPLARY 2023
The Exemplary 2023 was conducted on 23/03/2023. The competition was conducted by the team of YUVA.
Vaccination survey
An open online vaccination awareness survey was conducted on 1st of April 2023 under the vertical ‘HEALTH’. The survey was conducted to commemorate vaccination day held on 26th March. It’s main purpose was to know how aware the people are when it comes to vaccines, their needs and uses. Around 99 people responded to the survey.
DRUG ABUSE AWARENESS ONLINE SESSION
There was an online drug abuse awareness session organised by Yi YUVA Kochi chapter on 07th May 2023 at 10.00 am. The session lasted for 1 hour 15 minutes. The class was taken by Dr. Arun Oommen, one of the foremost neurosurgeons in India who acquired an MBA in hospital administration. He is currently working at Lakeshore Hospital Kochi. The session also included the presence of Yi YUVA Chairs and Co-Chairs of the Kochi Chapter.
E-WASTE ACTIVITY
As part of green initiatives under the vertical head climate change, scas yuva student chapter has contributed 400 kgs of E-waste to a government approved agency Aspire Greens, On 9th May 2023
ROAD SAFETY AWARENESS SIGNALS
Under the vertical road safety, a road safety awareness signals were prepared by the students and placed it in notice boards around the college and has given an awareness session for 1st year students for the same by the vertical heads.
World No Tobacco Day
POSTER MAKING COMPETITION
On the occasion of World, No Tobacco Day, Yi Kochi announced a poster making and slogan writing competition on 31st May 2023. The competition was announced by 9am on Wednesday. A total of 5 entries were submitted. Our college bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY
Yuva Scas Chapter along with Yi Kochi under the vertical Climate Change has planted fruit saplings of jackfruit and mango in the college Organic Farm on World Environment day
INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY
On 21st June a yoga day session was conducted for the students under YUVA Health Vertical in Seminar hall. The Session was instructed and demonstrated by Ms. Ashika Anna Sabu of M4 (2021-2023) Batch.
World Paper Bag Day
On July 12, World Paper Bag Day is celebrated annually to promote the significance of utilizing paper bags instead of plastic ♻️♻️. Paper bags made by students were distributed to nearby shops of the college under the vertical accessibility.
Dhanam Business Summit
Dhanam Business Summit and Award Nite was held on 22nd June 2023 at Le Meridien Kochi, 2 Students and 1 faculty attended the Session. The team has won the best summit report.
Artificial Intelligence Demonstration Contest
On behalf of celebrating Artificial Intelligence Appreciation Day on 16 July, YUVA under the vertical Innovation conducted AI Demonstration Contest exclusively for first-year students. Through this we initiate to provide a valuable learning experience for our first-year students and also raise awareness about the potential and impact of AI in our college community. 10 entries were received from the students.
YUVA NATIONAL CONCLAVE – FUTURE 3.0
Saintgits College of Applied Sciences has got the opportunity to host Yuva National Conclave by representing Yi Kochi at National Level. The Yi Kochi in collaboration with Young Indians, Ministry of Youth Affairs and G20 YEA conducted this event for the Youths. Mr. Srikanth Suryanarayan was the Chief Guest who is the founder and Managing Director of ” Ishka Renewable Farms Private limited”, He was also the former National Chair of Yi. Around 90 students from different colleges attended the event. It held at 11th august 2023 at 5 different research topics.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT
MANE KANCOR INGREDIENTS PRIVATE LTD
As part of YUVA Entrepreneurship Vertical, Yi Kochi has organised an Industrial Visit to Mane Kancor Ingredients Pvt.Ltd. A batch of 31 students, accompanied by a faculty member, embarked on an enlightening industrial visit. This visit has been really useful in expanding the understanding of natural ingredient, their extraction and production.
Teachers Day
On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, YUVA SCAS in association with SCASSA organized a games session for our esteemed teachers to appreciate their dedication and hard work in shaping the future of our students. The event took place on September 5, 2023, in the open auditorium of our college premises. YUVA has created a teacher appreciation video, where we asked around 20 of our faculties “What inspired them to become a teacher?”, and their responses along with our wishes were curated to a 6-minute video and were also posted on our Instagram page @yuvascas.
BUSINESS PLAN CONTEST
The Waste Management Business Plan Contest was held on 12th September 2023 at SCMS Cochin School of Business, Ernakulam, Organised by Yi Kochi. Our College has won 3rd Prize with Rs. 10000 Cash Prize. The Prizes will be distributed only on Inspiration Summit which is to be held on November 2023.
FOOD FEST – VENTURA
A food fest named “ Uppum Mulakum” was hosted by Yuva members under the vertical Entrepreneurship. It was held on 29th and 30th of September 2023 as part of the Arts Fest “ Ventura”.
REEL MAKING & DIGITAL DETOX
The following students has participated in reel making competition organised by Yi Kochi on the Topic “ Safer Future: Prevention of sexual abuse”.

A group of 8 students has participated in the digital detox skit competition organised by Yi Kochi, at St. Peters College, Kolenchery.
MEET THE ENTREPRENEUR
Mr. Bibin Jacob Kochett, Managing director, ABTEC Ltd. has given a talk on the topic “green entrepreneurship” on 13th October 2023. Also he has inaugurated the commerce association “Yashus”.
WORLD ANIMATION DAY: ACTIVITY AT UP SCHOOL PATHAMUTTOM
As Part of world animation day on 28.10.2023, the members of YUVA has conducted an interactive session and artistic drawing activity at government UP School Pathamuttom on 30.10.2023. It was really a fruitfull session, the kids has enjoyed the program. They were shown animated videos and was having a fun drawing activity. It ended up with the presentation of students showing their unique drawings to their peers.
WORLD ANIMATION DAY: DIGITAL POSTER DESIGNING CONTEST
As part of world animation day. It was decided to conduct a digital poster designing competition on the topic “ Animating a Sustainable Future”. The contest was open for all departments and have received 10 entries.
ECO FRIENDLY PRODUCT CREATING ACTIVITY
Under the vertical climate change and Innovation, an eco friendly recycled product creating activity was conducted. On 31.10.2023. 1st year UG and PG students actively participated in the event and has bought variety creatives. They used plastic bottles, news papers etc.. For making their products.

Investiture Ceremony
The investiture ceremony conducted on 18th December 2023 at Saintgits College of Applied Sciences saw a surge in student engagement, with active participation from various academic disciplines. YUVA’s affiliation with the Confederation of Indian Industry (ClI) enhanced industry-academic collaboration, providing students with valuable exposure to real-world challenges and opportunities. The investiture ceremony served as a platform to highlight YUVA’s impactful initiatives, including community outreach programs, skill development workshops, industry interactions, and social responsibility projects.
