About
CODE@Saintgits (Club Of Data Engineers @ Saintgits), the coding club of Saintgits College of Engineering (AUTONOMOUS), aims at feeding young and talented minds with the latest tools to conquer the demanding needs of the industry. The community brings enthusiastic students from various branches to work together and to nurture and hone their coding skills thereby enhancing their future employability skills.
What We Do
- Train and provide mentorship for students to hone their competitive coding skills.
- Support and train students to crack various Hackathons and Ideathons.
- Offer Coding assistance and practice sessions for students preparing for placement drives.
- Conduct Hackathons.
- Guide students in applying for various Student Ambassador Programs.
- Organize webinars for students and faculties to update them with the latest technologies.
- Arrange interactive sessions with mentors and eminent resource persons to CODE@Saintgits members on a need basis.
- Provide support and guidance to students in developing projects, writing research papers, and assist them with further procedures including filing patents.
Past Events
COVID TRACKER – COVI PRO
COVID Tracker is our most remarkable project of the year 2020. The purpose of the project was to track the COVID affected patients in the specified locality. The project was appreciated by District Collector of Pathanamthitta, Kerala, Mr. P. B. Nooh. Also, a patent on COVID Tracker was published in ‘Official Journal of the Indian Patent Office’ on 18th December 2020.
Saintgits team with the project entitled ‘Covi Pro’ was selected for the Gold prize for the State level contest of TECHFEST – 2021 organized by KSCSTE (Kerala State Council for Science, Technology, and Environment) on 18th, 19th and 20th November, 2021. Minister K.Bindu, Minister of Higher Education, handed over the prize of Rs. 25,000, and certificate to the student team and the mentor.
WEBINAR ON WEB DEVELOPMENT
A Webinar on Web Development For Beginners was conducted by Er. Justin Mathew, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science, Saintgits College of Engineering. Attendees were provided with hands-on experience with the latest beginner friendly website development tools
HACKATHON COMPETITION FOR CSI STATE STUDENT CONVENTION
We had conducted a State level (Kerala) Hackathon competition for the Computer Society of India Student Convention.
CODE CATACOMBS
Code Catacombs (National level Coding Hackathon) was conducted by CODE@Saintgits for ASCEND 2020, National Level Technical Fest by Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Saintgits College of Engineering with cash prizes worth 10K.
WORKSHOP ON COMPETITIVE PROGRAMMING
A workshop on Competitive Programming was conducted along with Coding Blocks, one of India’s leading programming learning platforms.
CODING COMPETITION
Coding Competition was conducted for all the CODE@Saintgits Club members to promote their problem solving and coding skills.
IDEATHON 2021
CODE@Saintgits organises an Ideathon Activity as a part of the coding hour for S4 B.Tech Students of Saintgits College of Engineering (Autonomous) every year. This opportunity leverages students to brainstorm on a problem statement as well as broaden their approach to solve and develop solutions through their creative minds.
HACKEREARTH FAMILIARIZATION WORKSHOP
A familiarization workshop on the HackerEarth platform was conducted via Google meet. Ms. Jitty Tresa Thomas (Club Secretary) hosted the session. Students were made aware about the Recruiter platform, how MCQ and programming questions are set, and how test reports are generated.

- India’s largest Open source Hackathon Series by Github and IncubateIND for 50+ colleges across India wherein the Young Technology Enthusiasts will solve the major problems of Education, Healthtech and Fintech that curbs India’s growth story.

KSCSTE – TECHFEST 2021
- TECHFEST 2021 is a technological event which showcases the technological innovations/inventions developed by the engineering students studying in the State.
- Organized by KSCSTE (Kerala State Council for Science, Technology, and Environment)
- C Tracker was shortlisted to compete in Regional TECHFEST

- Conducted by Saintgits IEDC Chapter
- First Round consisted of Business Trivia Quiz. Second Quiz consisted of idea presentation based on individual problem statements.

- Fair Play Award Winners: Diya Susan Eapen, Annie Ann Abraham and Dena Maria George of S6 CSA were awarded with the fair play award of Rs.5000 .
BLOGGER – TECHNICAL BLOG WRITING COMPETITION
