Computer Society of India(CSI)

The Computer Society of India is a non-profit professional meet to exchange views and information and to learn and share ideas. The mission of the CSI is to facilitate research, knowledge sharing, learning and career enhancement for all categories of IT professionals, while simultaneously inspiring and nurturing new entrants into the industry and helping them to integrate into the IT community. The student’s branch at SAINTGITS College of Engineering has more than 250 student members. Every year different programs are organized by the CSI student’s branches which are tailor made to the requirements of the student community. The student branch also helps the students to avail special assistance for participating in various activities hosted by other institutions. 

Association Excel

EXCEL the Exquisite Computer Engineers League, is a group consisting of Computer Engineering students of Saintgits College of Engineering. The activities of Excel include conducting national seminars, inter college competitions, workshop etc. There are a few programs organized under the banner of EXCEL. It includes PC Hardware and Networking workshop for 85 students. It was conducted by Corona Infotech, Kottayam. A personality development program by TIME, Trivandrum was also conducted. Apart from these, various social activities like blood donation, raising funds to help the distressed and poor etc are often conducted.

Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE)

Department of Computer Science and Engineering had successfully deployed ISTE student chapter in 2009. All the faculty members of the department and many of the students are ISTE membership holders. Many programs are conducted under the banner of ISTE student chapter. Some activities organised are – Technical talk on ‘ANDROID OS’, Refreshment Course on Open Source tool, ISTE Workshop on Aakash for Education National Mission on Education through IC, talk on “GATE -Orientation Program” etc.


yothirgamaya is the newest community-oriented initiative of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The programme is organized by BTech students with guidance and support from the Computer Science and Engineering department. Every year we train and support school kids on various IT related topics which are designed to help students with their academic performance and also pave the way to kindle their interest in Science and Engineering.

Jyothirgamaya 2018 – Three schools were selected for the program, CMS LP School Punnaveli, Govt. LP School Pathamuttom and Govt. LPB School Vakathanam.
