IEI Student Chapter
Saintgits Student Chapter of The Institution of Engineers India (IEI), inaugurated on July 30, 2015, is the strongest professional organisation in the college, with more than 1700 BTech students from six departments enrolled as members. The major IEI Saintgits Civil Engineering division activities are – to commemorate National Science day, a Poster design contest was conducted with the theme “Science and Technology for Sustainable Future”, Women’s Day Celebrations, Civil Expo on “Antique Buildings”, paper presentation competition on the theme “Skill Development for Young Engineers to Reform the Core Sector: Vision 2025”, quiz competitions etc.
ICI Student Chapter
Indian Concrete Institute (ICI) is the national organization of engineering professionals employed in concrete technology and associated research areas in India. The Saintgits Student Chapter of Indian Concrete Institute, inaugurated, on 23rd March 2012, conducts several value-added courses. ICI Saintgits Student Chapter embraces budding civil engineers. The objective of the ICI Saintgits Student Chapter is to help bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge taught at the campus and what is being practiced in the field. The involvement of students in ICI activities moulds them into professionals competent to face the challenges in the field. ICI Saintgits Student Chapter organizes technical fests, technical talks, quiz contests, mix design competitions etc, at the college yearly.
ASCE Student Chapter
ASCE Students Chapter of Saintgits College of Engineering, was established in the year 2018, with the objective of providing technical platforms for budding civil engineering students. The students from ASCE Saintgits Student Chapter regularly participate in various technical events conducted all over the country, and has won many prizes in the past. Concrete Canoe named JATAYU was the first ever Canoe from Kerala, to participate in the National Concrete Canoe Competition conducted by the American Society of Civil Engineers. Based on the professional activities of ASCE Saintgits Student Chapter in the year 2020, it was ranked top one-third among the student chapters all over the world. Concrete Canoe named PEGASUS has won the third prize in the National Concrete Canoe Competition held at Punjab Engineering College in 2022. The team from ASCE Saintgits Student Chapter has represented India in the Sustainable Solutions competition conducted at Louisiana Tech University in 2022. The student chapter has launched its first Online Technical Festival named VENUSTAS in the year 2021 and will be continuing the same in the years ahead.
RILEM
The International Union of Laboratories and Experts in Construction Materials, Systems and Structures (RILEM) was founded in June 1947, with the aim to promote scientific cooperation in the area of construction materials and structures. The mission of the association is to advance free-access scientific knowledge related to construction materials, systems and structures and to encourage transfer and application of this knowledge world-wide
The three main goals of RILEM are:
- To promote sustainable and safe construction, and improved performance and cost benefit for society,
- To stimulate new directions of research and its applications, promoting excellence in construction,
