The Department of Civil Engineering was established way back in 2004 when only a few colleges were offering Civil Engineering. We offer three programmes, one bachelor and two sought-after masters programmes, affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Kerala Technological University (KTU).
B Tech Civil Engineering programme offered by Department is accredited by NBA (National Board of Accreditations) as recognition of the continuous efforts of Department towards maintaining quality standards in education. Department is one among the only six in Kerala that offers NBA accredited B Tech programme in Civil Engineering. Additionally, accreditation by the Institution of Engineers (India) is an acknowledgement of our commitment to keeping high professional standards in education.

HOD’s desk
Department of Civil Engineering at Saintgits, focus on blending academics with research, innovation and leadership. We maintain active research groups in Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Construction Management, and Environmental Engineering. This research culture that we maintain has always inspired many of our students who could embrace higher studies in premier institutes of the world, become dynamic practicing engineers and also excel as entrepreneurs.
Qualities of teamwork and professional ethics are introduced to students through various activities conducted by Professional body chapters American Society for Civil Engineers (ASCE), Indian Concrete Institute (ICI), Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Institute of Engineers (India) (IE(I)), Association of Civil Engineering Students (ACES), Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS) and The International Union of Laboratories and Experts in Construction Materials, Systems and Structures (RILEM). We ensure personalized mentoring for students. We are equipped with a group of well experienced faculty, who cares and guides our students.
Right from the beginning, we were leaping forward and within these 21 years, the department has grown with 2 PG specializations, Ph.D Research Centre and a Centre of Excellence in Concrete 3D printing.

The Centre of Excellence in Concrete 3D Printing at Saintgits College of Engineering, in collaboration with Tvasta Manufacturing Solutions, is at the forefront of sustainable digital construction in India. The cell gives free support to build homes less than 500 square feet for economically backward classes. Through the cell Saintgits Civil Department helps in building planning, its permit from local bodies, and to full fill other requirements as per building rules. Trainings are given to common people regarding building science. The suggestion of maintenance and rehabilitation techniques for buildings
