YIP-Young Innovators Programme
Young Innovators Programme (YIP) is the flagship program of the Government of Kerala anchored by Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC) that promotes real-world problem-solving through innovation among students in the State aged 13 to 37 to transform the vision of a knowledge society through the promotion of innovations that bring sustainable development and provide solutions for real-life problems which are socially and economically beneficial to the society.
Department of Chemical Engineering, Saintgits College of engineering is actively participating in the YIP programme and students are getting motivated from the projects to look forward with their careers and entrepreneurships.
AY2023-24-YIP programme
Student’s projects were in the following areas:
- Bio nutrification
- Catalytic reforming for fuel upgradation and diesel production from mixed oils
- Microfiltration in waste water treatment and conversion of biomass to valuable products
- Hydrogen storage tank
- Moving bed bio film tank
- Usage of activated carbon
- Bioreactors
- Pyrolysis of waste plastic into fuels
