On March 7, 2022, the Department of Physics at Saintgits College of Engineering launched “The Astronomy Club.” This club, comprised of enthusiastic undergraduate B.Tech students, is dedicated to exploring the field of astronomy with the primary objective of imparting knowledge on this subject to the student community. Student-led initiatives often bring a fresh and dynamic perspective to such extracurricular activities. This not only provides an opportunity for students to engage with the subject beyond the confines of the classroom but also allows them to take ownership of their learning experiences. The establishment of an Astronomy Club not only enriches the academic environment but also provides a platform for students to develop teamwork, leadership, and communication skills. It can be a hub for fostering a love for science and exploration among students, contributing to their personal and intellectual growth.
